Default I thought I had rims and tires figured out..

Hey guys,

I am back once again with a rim and tire question. I have decided that I want to get a set of Moto Metal 951 rims, 17x9 with a -12mm offset and a 4.5" backspacing. I would like to wrap these rims with BFGoodrich Mud Terrains but after reading up on them it seems like the tires will not be wide enough. Am I correct? I would be getting the 255/75r17 tires, but according to tirerack.com the 'rim width range' is 6.5-8.5". Now, this means that the tire won't fit on the rim right?

I am sorry I keep posting about tires and rims but its all so dagum confusing!

Could anyone recommend me a good a/t or m/t tire that would be wide enough to fit.

I was looking at a nice set of Toyo Open Country A/T tires but I have no experience with them (although I have heard good things).

Thanks for all the help and any input would be greatly appreciated

Cheers,

JakeRob

Just get a wider mud terrain, instead of 255 get a 285/55/17. First number is width, second is aspect ratio for the sidewall and third the rim.

Or get a 17x8 rim.
