Default Tires, Wheels....Again

Ok guys I know all of these questions have been asked a bazzilion times but I'm gonna ask them again...lol. First of all I've got the TRX package with the 16" wheels on my dak, but how wide are they? Are they 16x7's or 16x8's? And now since my BFG AT's have almost 80,000KM on them I decided it's time for new ones. I was not terribly happy with them so I've decided to find something else. I would like to go to 265/75/16 but based on what the other threads on this forum have said (I think it was donkey) 265/75's work without much rubbing on a 7 inch rim and not on the 8 inch rim. Anyone that can help please chime in! And those guys that are running 265/75's on a stock suspension I want your opinions too!

Your rims should be 16x8s. The reason you may incure a little more rub with your wheel width is based on tire circumference vs. tread width. With my narrow 7" wide wheels, the tires will have a tendancy to have a taller outside diameter. There have been several members that have used 265/75/16s without the aid of a leveling kit and have not reported rubbing. My truck, however, still gets a slight rub when turning right, while braking...even with the TM 1.5" kit. Yet, I still think that it has a lot to do with tire brand choice, and current operating performance of the front struts (in my particular case).

I say, go with the 265/75/16s. Depending on tire brands and sidewall stiffness, you will notice a little less stability when pushing on the vehicle from the side. Of course, any larger tire will see this any way.

I am running 265/75 r16 on my 16x7 wheels that came on the ST model with zero rub. They have never rubbed at factory height.

Barasis has the 16x8 wheels ( i THINK) and he just put on some 265/75s, and he reported a little rub, but nothing serious.

I think you will be fine if you wanna run them.
