2008 dodge dakota stereo help!
Oh yeah, almost forgot. Your best friend when doing door speaker installs will be strip caulk. Get 3M strip caulk from the local autoparts store. They are 1' black strips that come in a blue box. It is about $20 for a box of it....and I almost used the whole box when doing my 4 speakers. Use if for gasket material in-between everything, re-attaching the plastic door liner, or deadening panels and plastic rivets.

I would just suggest sound deadener if you are going to deal with deadening...
that black stuff can make a heck of a mess if you arnt careful. lol
I watched an idiot at bestbuy use it to hold a sat. antenna wire in the windshield valley...
turns out it likes to stick to EVERYTHING it touches. like the windshield and top of the car... I lol'ed for a while after that one...

Like you said, "Idiot at Best Buy". Yes, it does stick to everything, which is why it works so well, and when used properly is a great tool. Besides, it's not that bad, and is a lot easier to work with than deadener.
Another trick is to stuff insulation under the white mat on the inside of the plastic door panels to faten them up, cheap sound deadening and reduced door vibration.

Apparently it already had some deadener in there. ANd the bass especially sounded really good as well as the sound in the stock speakers. I gave my fiance the pioneer and today threw in the pioneer speakers, the front have 3 way and the bacl have 4 way speakers. They sound much better, and there is a huge difference in the sound from the stock speakers. The bass is even better and the the better part is the rest of the music is mch more clear. There is little to no rattling from the bass. I wish I could find info on if there is a amplifier in the truck, though, I cannot figure on the bass sounding that good without one...
Thanks guys, if anyone knows about the amp let me know!
