Do you guys have a butt buddy clan or something? Who all knows about this secret project? I'm gonna say...paint it brown and and write "Arrrrrgh Matey" acros the top of it. Then you could get a big flag that says Butt Pirate and mount it in the back or your truck.

LOL! I nearly fell off my chair reading this. You guys crack me up.

Was going to wait till I had it back on the truck but it seems like it's going to rain for eternity and I had to do some touching up this morning so here's what it looked like when I went out to check on it this morning. Little bit blurry, cellphone pic sorry. The phone makes it look even flatter than it is:

As it turns out I didn't read the clearcoat directions completely last night. I assumed I put the first coat of that on 10 min after the last coat of color (same duration as between color coats). This morning I noticed it says to wait an hour after the color coat, oops. It was very rough, almost sandpaperish. I took some fine steel wool and went over it, smoothed it out pretty good, then added a few more coats of clear (the rest of the can). After the steel wool it started looking a LOT better, I'll have pics when it's dry.

Btw that is two cans of Metalcast Smoke, you'd need a lot of that stuff to get it almost black and it won't be as shiny as black chrome but it's a cool effect. My grill already had some chips and dings in it so if I end up not liking it I won't feel bad
