Default 06 Dakota 3.7

Yeah, I have a similar question. My 06 Dakota has a power drop around 40mph. Have to really increase the rpms to keep the power up.

Was thinking a new chip may help that power curve. Looking for suggestions and advice.

Thanks!

depending on the truck, 4x4 or 2x4, the only thing thats gonna get that truck moving is a gear swap. the 3.7 with the 3.55, cant get out of the whole, and once the convertor starts to lock up, forget it. kind of exspensive for the 4x4 around $1500.00, but if you plan on keeping the truck for a very long time, it is well worth the investment, you may search the charger forums also, they have the same 3.7 that the trucks do, you could find ideas there also

The Charger has the 3.5L, which makes more power and torque than our 3.7. We share motors with the base Ram and Liberty, and base Durangos and Grand Cherokees (although I've never seen one).

Gears will help the most. Do you have a manual or automatic?

I have an automatic 4x4.
What gearing would be recommended?

I also have the 3.7 4x4, switching the gears, what all is involved in doing this? Should it be done by a professional of can the average guy do it himself?
