Default keyless entry stopped working

Well, about 1 month ago one of my keys stopped working, and now my other one did, i replaced both batteries and they still do not work.

Its weird i think that both keys would just stop working within a month of each other, havent crushed them or got them wet or anything.

Any ideas? Anyway to test if its the remotes or the truck itself?

Its annoying going outside to grab somthing from the truck, but opps need to go around to the driver door to unlock... and well i want it fixed lol.

Thanks

First thing I would think of is batteries. Both batteries are roughly the same age so it makes sense that they would die around the same time. What does not make sense is why replacing them didn't fix it. Maybe check the little contacts inside the key fobs to make sure the old batteries didn't leak a bit and corrode the contacts. It's not too common but it does happen. We're dealing with a VERY small amount of current and even a tiny amount of corrosion would prevent the current from flowing from the batteries.
Dunno that's all I can think of for now.
Good luck!

Pull the batteries out and check the solder joints on the battery trays. Chances are a solder joint broke and is no longer making contact with the PCB in the fob. Happened to mine and others on the forum. You can re-solder it but must be very careful of the heat so you don't burn up the PCB. Cheaper that $200 each to get new ones from the dealer.

AH yes... yoru talking about the peice that holds the battery in, a part of it is broken off, and you can see where you need to resolder it.

So this must be the problem Will resolder it, thanks much!

I too found the solder joints under the battery were cracked, reflowed solder and works great!
