Who's got 4.7L Cams?
Just curious how many of you 4.7L guys are cammin? If not cammin just yes, how many have cam plans in the works?
Available cams. High Output, a 200 grind or so. = Direct Replacement 206 Cams = Lash caps 212 Cams = Lash caps, Beehive Springs and tune 212X Cams = Lash caps, Beehive Springs, tune and recommend bigger fuel injectors 224 Cams, for Supercharger and turbo boosted applications. Myself I have 206 Cams in mine and H.O. Cams in the wife's Durango. |
whats gains did u see in both man?? the 206 and H.O.'s?
|
Believe it or not, other than idle I could not tell the difference between the H.O.s and the 206 until Hemifever started writing my tunes. Before my Supercharger he wrote me an aggressive tune for my 206 and it rocked. If your not planning on custom tuning go H.O. Cam. If you do go custom tune, 206.

i do, i do, i do, 206 and yes sir, cams did not come alive until marty wrote my tunes, the sc prigrammer was ok, but the sct tuner is the way to go
|
i am contemplating HO cams and the new intake manifold, but the cams are on backorder for the rest of my life probably...
|
Hopefully not. Then again, the smaller grinds are made from the H.O. cams. So if the H.O. cam doesn't make a comeback, there won't be any 206, 212s etc. Unless they start to regrind 4.7L Magnum cams.

has anyone compared a tuned stock cammed motor vs. tuned h.o. cam?
|
Yes, on the KRC website you can read the different dyno results. Stock vs H.O. vs 206 etc.

Supposedly the HO cams result in 20-25 RWHP, and are a direct fit.
|
This is true. The HOs are a direct replacement.
