Default Replace 2000 4.7 injectors with 2004 injectors? am I ok?

I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota sport, 4.7 engine, about 80k miles. I just confirmed that one of my injectors is bad by switching it between cylinders and having the error code follow it. When I removed all the injectors to clean I also noticed that 2 other injectors have cracks in the housing. I am now looking to replace them all.

A number of write ups suggest that the later fuel injectors (2001- 2004) are of better design then the 2000 year injectors. My question is: Can I buy and install the 2004-2006 model injectors into my engine without having to worry about any computer modifications? Has anyone done this? Will it run fine and pass NJ inspection?

Listed below are my understanding of the injector part numbers.

2000 stock fuel injector - PN 53030842
2001 2003 stock fuel injector - 53032145AA
2004 – 2006 stock fuel injector 53032704AB

injectors are the same, look at the tip to see what the nozzle looks like. you should have one hole instead of many. most of us that have boosted application or nitrous, have switched to the ford injector, these are also a direct replacement, but instead of having one nipple for fuel, there are several for a better spray pattern
