Ive always run 265/75 R16 on my 4x2 06 dakota. They never rubbed, no lift. I have a small lift now, but I ran them for over a year without a lift.

My original size was 245/70. Thats a 29.5" tire.

The new 265/75 are a 31.6" tire.

If your OEM tires are 265/70, which alot of models had on them, then they are 30.6" tires.

Either way, you should be able to run 265/75 R16s on a 16x7 stock wheel no problem.

I'm running 265/65/17

I tried putting 265/70/17 and they rubbed. It might only have been the front moulded mud flap as it was sticking out into the wheel well, not sure if it was rubbing the inside of the wheel wells.
I'd like to try and put another set of them on and see if I can get away with them.

Will a leveling kit help with this?

Yeah a leveling kit will help but, I am not sure to what degree. I know that if you have the 16x8 wheels, you could get a little rub, if you have the 16x7 wheels, you don't get any rub, even under flex. As far as 17" wheels go, i have no idea.

nickxrx, I dont really recommend ANY leveling kit. but, if you are getting one, get the Trailmaster kit.
