My first squeak was at 40k, replaced lower right bj, squeak gone. At 125K it was squeaking and rattling like crazy and all over the road, replaced everything, quiet as a church mouse. The b joint I had replaced(oem) was already shot and the other three rang like bells when I shook them. Upper arms and bj's, lower bj's, stabilizer links and bushings, and hub/bearings and bolts were $600 and took me 9 hrs to do. All parts except bushings and bolts were from Rock auto and are Moog greasable. Didn't do tierod ends yet, but need to since they are obviously dried out and steering is still just a bit flakey. Oem struts suk and should be replaced asap. Did mine/w 1.5 TM level at 40k with first b joint, still quiet and riding great(Monroes).

This was a lower ball joint for me: 05 Dodge Dakota.
Look for ripped rubber jacket, which would have let the grease dry out.
Stare at it from underneath while a friend rocks the truck; if you see any play at all, that's it. The ball joint itself should only pivot, but not have any play.
