I have a 2009 Dakota SXT (Canadian model, not sure if the model designator is the same in the US) and I am looking at getting Mopar tow hooks for it. However I don't know where they would install and how to go about it. There doesn't seem to be any slots in the bumper for the 2005+ hooks. Will I need to cut my bumper cover?

 

The slots on either side of the license plate... between the fogs. Thats where they come out.

I think dodge has two bumpers for the 08 and 09s, and if you dont have the tow package, they cover up the area where you COULD install the hooks. Like the bumper doesnt have the holes at all.

Can someone confirm this?

I think thats total BS.

looks like there are 4 slots between the fog lights for them

 

you have the correct slots in the bumper, however you may want to trim the bumper for extra clearence other wise you cant get anything more then a 1/2in. thick tow strap on them. the hooks bolt up to the bottom two bumper bolts and run down the bottom of the frame to the body mount bolt.
