I am going on a trip and need to remove the fold down back seats in my 2007 Dodge Dakota. Have no idea how.

Big hammer.

Or you could look carefully at the seats for any point they are bolted to the truck/each other and find a tool, usually a wrench or socket, to remove said bolts. It's a pretty simple operation and shouldn't take you much more than half an hour to remove them and two hours to convince any ladies living with you that they should stay in the living room until you return.

For the QuadCab this is how. not sure what you have?

On the floor under the rear seats There are four nuts and four bolts to be removed. If I remember right the nuts are on the rear of the seat brackets on the floor, the bolts are up front. should be a 19mm socket if I remember right, once you have the bolts and nuts removed you will have to take the seat belts off of the seats, little bungie hold the clips in place and the center one needs to be unpluged at the bottom the plastic piece on the center of the seat (a key into the hole on the plastic plugin will undo this)

next the seats need to be lifted straight up, the back of the seats have fingers that slide down onto the rings on the back wall.

and your done!
(if you have the QuadCab that is)
