Default Suitable floorjack?

I need a lightweight floorjack to keep in my truck for emergency tire changes only as I have no confidence in the crappy bottle jack that came with my 2005 Dakota. Jegs has a 4000 lb capacity aluminum(racing type) floorjack. Any input with regard to suitability? O.K. to use for this purpose?

I dont see why it wouldnt work. You arent picking the entire truck up, just one corner of it, so 4k lb is well suited for what you want IMO.

Picked up a "Big Red" floor jack at Pep Boys, all steel in its own carry case, 2.5 ton capacity and not too heavy. Thanks anyway for the input.

does that jack lift your truck enough to change a tire? last time I used one of those cheap tiny 2-2.5 ton jacks I had to put a few pieces of 2x4 under it to get it to the right height for my truck.

And, IIRC our truck has a scissory type jack, not a bottle.
