This is off an 8 lug ram, but it gets the point across.

Its the retaining clip that holds the discs and drums on during assembly. At first they didnt bother my truck, but on the second or third rotation I developed a shimmy that wasn't there until after I rotated the tires. It causes the rims to improperly seat. I took the rims back off, plucked the clips off, and then re-installed. The shimmy was no more.

Im Having a vibration also? I thought it was my tires But i just had new ones put on and its still there. I get it around 40-60 MPH I checked the bearings, and universals? Nothing looks out of wack but not sure? Sprayed the universal down with PBblaster But doubt that would have done anything in the first place... Its frustrating with everything i have looked into?

Lightning - that is *exactly* what I was picturing. I think I'm off to Sears tonite to get a torque wrench...nice find on the pic.

Also, just read something very interesting in the service manual - vibration could be caused by excessive radial or logitudinal runout, in otherwords, wobbly/out of round tires or bent rims.

After having the differential pinion seal replaced at 35k miles by the dealer I experienced a vibration. Drove it right back and the tech that did the job admitted that he didn't torque the pinion yoke per spec.

Re-torqued per spec and vibration quit.
