If you want chrome, go for it. A new chrome cover will be less than $20

The Mag Hytec is a nice piece but $250-300 depending on how hard you shop

PML makes a cast cover for less than $200

If you want a cover that looks good and does something, the TA Performance combination cover and bearing girdle looks good and strengthens the assembly and its also less than $200.

My Mag-Hytec was just under $200 shipped.

Compare features and it is no contest.

I agree with NJJer, if I was going to spend money on an aftermarket diff cover I'd get the Mag-Hytec. For now I painted the stock one.

I agree with Frenchy, don't chrome your diff cover. It's gayer than walking into a gay bar with "all deliveries made in rear" tattoo'd on your forehead.
