Default Removing taillights?

I'm about to nite shade my tails, but how do you remove the taililghts? I didn't see any obvious screws, and the holes when you lower the tailgate don't contain screws. Do you pry it off? Or did yall not even remove them and just tape off the area around them?

with the tailgate down, there are 2 torx screws (T-20 I think) that you need to remove then you can pop the tail light out. I wouldn't tape and paint it on the truck.

after you unscrew the screw on the tailgate to have to kinda yank the crap out of the lights to get the ball stud undone. it took me a while to figure that out.
