HID's Headlight question
I have installed HID fog lights, now I'm looking at Headlights, but I have been told by an installer that HID on the Dodge's require resisters, 3 for each headlight, low/High/driving lights.
Does this apply to the Dakota or possibly just the Full size dodge trucks. Mine is a 07 QuadCab Thanks |
sounds like hoopla to me.

i didnt have to on mine my were just plug and play i think he is trying to play ya

you will need a relay and a capacitor, but its nothing you cant do yourself... we have a vendor on the site that sells a decent kit. I got a new headlight setup from them. HIDextra.

hey ericemery Where do you tie-in the relay and capacitor? as there is 3 wires running to the headlights, On a side topic, is it possible to disable/cut off the part of the headlights for the driving lights, when you put the truck in gear the headlight come on, can this be done without any warnings going off? |

And, I'm also pretty sure it's against the law to have a Canadian registered vehicle without running lights on...
You may want to contact your local police station... |
Your right frenchy,
Found this info on it. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...to-canada.html Canada requires DRLs for vehicles 1990 and newer. weird that my 2005 dodge SX2.0 didn't have the daytime running lights. |
the relay hooks up to the battery and a ground source... there is a harness that you plug your headlight connector into, that send the signal to turn them on...
As for the DRL's, you may want to contact the vendor on here that sells them to see if there is a way to make it work... DRLs run on a lot less power than normal low or high beams if I remember right. that could mess with your relay/ballasts... |
