Just wondering if the a cap from 2004 would fit on a 2007 any help would be helpful please

 

I doubt it.

Did a search on Leer site, they use different molds.

2005+ Dakota Quad Cab Short Bed (Mold 67DD)
2001-04 Dakota Quad Cab Short Bed (Mold 63DK)

 

I measured a cap of 1st gen last summer. the length was spot on due the 6ft box it sat about thee inches narrower so when you split the difference on the bed rail it dosnt look to bad I drive an 08 C/C. so if an eighties was that close I don't imagine the 2nd gen is off by much either..

Nope for ARE. My buddy's cap on his old 98 would not fit his 06. Both are club cabs. 3Gs are wider and shaped slightly different
