I'd say possibly a bad sending unit. I'm not sure how the level sensors are in the tanks of these trucks, but if it's just a float, it's possible it could've gotten stuck somehow and held a position. Do you run you're tank low very often?

i try not to but i thought the same thing about the float sticking
