Default Need Stereo help, PLEASE!

Ok so I have had my Clarion HU for a month now. My first attempt at installing it in my 05 dakota, w/out infinity system didnt go well. There was power goin to it non stop even when key was not in ignition. Called Crutchfield where it was bought from and they sent me a new harness.

2nd attempt, same thing. Sent back that adapter.

3rd attempt, same thing. Called Crutchfield again. They were able to get the HU to shut off and work properly BUT not when you turn the truck to accessory mode. When the truck is turned to accessory mode than to the off position it stays on.

This is even when the doors are opened. Keep in mind I never had that option with the stereo staying on until the doors are opened.

What could be wrong? I have it wired correctly. Im starting to get frusted and getting ready to just send everything back.

Please any help would be great.

I had the same issues when installing an Alpine HU last week. I simply ran a length of wire from the 12V outlet to the 12V supply on the adapter. Problem solved and operates as it should.

Not sure if the 05's had the CANBUS system that the 2009 has, but I had to purchase special (read $150) harness to get mine to work properly. The acc power wire comes from the CAN module as does the Reverse and Parking Brake signal wires.

Anyone else have to use a cutting wheel to grind off the two tabs in the back of the radio bay to get a 2-DIN stereo to fit?
