Default Crazy blinker behavior?

Hey all,

I have a 2007 Dodge Dakota quad cab that I dearly love. Out of the clear blue about 2 days ago, when I went to use my left turn signal, its blinking at least twice as fast as it ever did. Using the right turn signal is normal. Any ideas what this might be and what I can do to get it fixed? Also, when I start the truck, I will get an alert (ding) but I see nothing on my dash or other display. This started at the same time the blinker problem did. I would guess its related?

Thanks for any information or help.

Steve

Universal signal that one of your left turn signal bulbs is burned out. In the owners manual, and standard on almost every vehicle since the 70's.

The double time blinker can be a sign of a head or taillight that is out.

I had a loose ground on my passenger headlight, and it would chime every time I hit a bump.
After the chime, the right signal would double-blink. Very frustrating. I had to remove the headlight to see the problem.

If the truck detects a problem with a light, it will chime for no apparent reason. Look for a bad bulb on the side that is blinking fast.

Yep it was a burned out rear tail light. Thanks everyone.
