Autostart settings, can i run the heated seats?
I like to use the autostart and let my '08 Dakota Laramie quadcab warm up on the colder days. In this "mode" the heated seats do not come on and the heater runs in a low power setting for the 15 minutes until the autostart shuts off automatically. Is there a way to preset or overide these factory settings? I want it to fire up and get nice and toasty as soon as possible but it shows no option in the manual that i can find. It warms up but not as warm as i would like it to.
The heated seats in mine will not come on with the truck because they turn off with the ignition turned off mode. The heater however does come on full heat if I set the heater in that mode before I leave the truck in the evening. Yours should work the same. It takes on 30 degree mornings a good ten minutes of running for the truck to even starts to push warm air in defrost mode to start to defrost the windshield. Also like the heated seats the rear window and door mirror heaters won’t come on with the auto start. You will have to turn them on once you insert and turn the key to start. Now I’m not saying that the computer can’t be programmed to do different but I never inquired about that. And yes we have seen high twenties here in central Florida for the last two weeks.
