transmission temperature getting hot

I stand corrected on the temp... nice find dodgetrucker! I appreciate the info. I guess I was kinda right in the aspect of being worried about the clutches/shift bands/etc. Anywho, that does make ya cringe a tad!

who actually wrote that? any source you can provide?
im not to sure who wrote it, i just did a search for "atf operating temperature" and came up with that,

now do they mean 1,000 to 1,500 miles of driving with the temp at 295 or 300?? or is it if you just touch that temp once for 20 miles your toast?
that im not to sure about, but on previous vehicals, if i got them past 260, i parked them as soon as i could untill i could do a fluid change, and in my expeirence, once the fluid has that burnt smell and discolored, you are on barrowed time, for me they have lasted a few more thousand miles, and some only made it 100 miles
