Couple speaker questions
Hey guys,
I don't post much on here but have been a member for a year or so and I have a question. My driver side speaker blew out a while ago and I can't take the noise anymore, so it's time to replace them. I plan on replacing all 4 speakers with something aftermarket, haven't decided yet, but need to know what size speakers we have.
I also am thinking about replacing the stock headunit with an aftermarket one while I have everything apart. My other question is how hard will it be to replace everything? My knowledge of this stuff is basic to moderate. I plan on purchasing everything from crutchfield.com and they claim that they include everything I will need for the install but I'd rather prepare myself for the worst just in case. I may post back in this thread in the future if anymore question arise, which I'm sure they will.
Thanks for the help guys.

Officially our trucks need a 6.75 speaker... a 6.5 is what everyone uses. they sell adapters, or you can just make your own.
Unless you plan on amplifying them, you can just use the stock speaker wires to power a low wattage speaker. A nice aftermarket HU is going to really help out with the sound quality.
crutchfield usually does a pretty good job of giving you everything you need.
