been thinking about your question moneyman19, it could be done, but you would have to cut the handle out and figure out a way to mount them with access to the screw hole to put it back on the truck again. wouldn't be easy but it is possible. too bad no one makes a direct replacement for us.

do you think an older Dakota one might work or an 05 ram might work? im thinking the RAM one might work just have to cut it to make it shorter. if not i might do that one set up and just drill into it.

Ram one won't work. I asked around. if it did, we could get the a pillar from the SRT10. I have no idea if the older DAK's would fit.

have 3 wires, one goes to the sender that is tapped into the Tranny pan, one is power tapped to my dash lights (dimmer switch works on it) and one is to the ground. All wires are tucked into the back of the pod. The one for the tranny pan goes thru an existing hole and rubber gromet in the firewall.

So what you are saying is that i will need to tap into the tranny pan and install a sending sensor and not tap into the existing temp sensor wire.

that is what I had to do, I guess it all depends on what kind of gauge you have.

i put a t-fitting in the hot side of my trans cooler line, it will be a lot hotter there than the pan temp, but if you keep an eye on it there you should never scoarch your fluid, other wise the only other option is to pull the pan, tap it and install the sensor, but on a better note, the sensor would double as a trans drain plug for further maintence/repairs, if you install it in the cooler line, you need to also run a ground to the fitting/sensor

the original sensor is more than likely just a switch, once it get so hot, it trips and turns on the warning and light

Thanks Paul and Trucker. I was looking through the service manual, it will be the yellow and pink wire. If that doesn't work i'll try one of your sugestions.
