Question Struts and shocks prices

Hello Everyone, So I go to my local muffler shop to get a price on my 05 QC for struts and shocks and they quote me a price of 808.00 dollars! Now I don't know alot about them but I figure thats way to high. Can anyone reccomend some struts and shocks that won't break the bank but are still good. I am going to get a 2" leveling kit for the front and I have a shop that will do it for me. I was just wondering about what decent struts/shocks there are out there. Thanks for any info.

Go with either Monroe or Rancho, do not replace with OEM. Do a search, lots of information on this site.

I purchased Rachos also, I found the front struts on amazon for $90 each, free shipping. The i found the rears also at amazon for $45 each, free shipping. I hope i don't get screwed with using amazon. I will have the fronts installed by my mechanic and talked him into doing them for $150 with alignment. The rears i will do myself. So I'm in it for $270 for shocks, $420 total.

$808 is really high, even paying high end for the shocks you can get 4 Ranchos for under $400. $408 install on shocks is ridiculous.

I just purchased a set of Rancho's for my truck. The shocks themselves were 297.00 and I also got the TM leveling kit. The total bill was 401.00. Free shipping from truckaddons.com.

I am putting them in myself so I will have to pay a little more for an alignment and a few bucks to the guy helping me put the springs on the new stuts.

I got my Ranchos for around $300 and my long time mech. charged me $85 to install the fronts and align. $800 is way out of line.
