Mopar canvas sliding bed cover.
I'm on my 3rd Dakota
. The last one someone left turned in front of me in a 50MPH zone and after hitting them the lawn tractor in the bed came through the back window.
Anyway I bought a 2005 Dakota SLT 6.5 bed. It came with a removable Mopar canvas cover. I've never used a cover on my beds before because I need it for hauling. I took it off and cannot figure out how to make it retract? It has the clips & straps in the front but I cannot get it to do anything. I suspect the original owner never retracted it and it is frozen in place. I don't want to brake it by forcing it and I'm still to sore to do it anyway. Is this a stationary cover or is there a simple explanation?
It has 3 removable clips on each side that hold it down & 3 metal bows in it and a metal front/rear edge. There is a small screw at the tailgate end and if I remove them nothing happens? Tag on it says Mopar

Whoa, this slipped by... Welcome to the DF and the 3rd Gen Dakota Section man! I apologize that no one has even posted a response of some sort. Do you have a pic of it, that might help us figure this out for ya? I dont have a Mopar Branded tonneau, I have an Extang. With that said, I would assume with out pictures it sounds like a stationary style cover as you put it. Again my apologies...
