Pro auto tech here, installed a 4 flat trailer harness on my 2010 Dakota. Does this truck need to have the Body Controller or IPC reflashed, because the trailer lights work fine until I try to use the turn signals along with the tail lights or brakes, then everything stops working.
trailer harness is wired correctly....yellow to left turn, green to right turn, brown to tail lights, and white to ground. Used all heat shrink butt connectors, a professional wiring job.
One guy who works at a Dodge dealer says the bcm needs to be reprogrammed, another one says it doesn't.
Any help would be appreciated.
