Default Grrrrr Brake lights

OKay, odd thing. Last Thursday, I let my wife drive my truck into work as I was going to get her car worked on and I had to drive it to the place it was going to get worked on. When I was first following her, the brake lights worked just fine. After a bit, like 7 miles, when you'd think someone would put their brakes on, there were no brake lights. As you might imagine, this has me worried.

So this morning, as I was driving in to work, I could see the third brake reflection on my tool box just fine. Cool, Just my imagination. Hec, even as I was getting to where I usually park for the day, and being followed by a cop, all seemed well. Figured if my brake lights weren't working, he'd stop me, right?

Stopped at the doc for my post-op, and started backing up and noticed in the window, no brake lights. Oh Joy. and 30+ miles to go before I'm home. Get home, Turn indicators all work, 4 ways all work, Brake light? Um nope...

So what's my problem?

As you know, I have LEDs in there now, and it seems odd they work for a little bit and then cut out. You'd figure it would be constant, no brake lights at all.

Took the LED Third Brake Light combo unit off. Brake lights work again.

So now I don't know how long this has been going on as I've never been behind my truck when it's being driven before, until last Thursday... Kinda hard to be in two places at once...
