Default Replacing bumper cover...

Does anyone have any tips on how to do this?

I would imagine it is pretty easy but I havn't had a look at it yet.

I am getting a new bumper cover, one from an SLT, with the chrome trim, and fog light holes, to replace my ST gray bumper, that has a big gouge in it.

Just figured I'd ask for some pointers in advance.

If anyone has a how-to link that would be great too, thanks.

there are two or three hex screws i think inside each fender well and there are two poppy thing thingys on the bottom of the bumper. after you get everything undone pop one side of the bumper off and the rest should come right off with it. Reverse process when putting the other one on. With one person, this should be a 5-10 min job.

So it looks like 3 hex bolts in each fender well, and then 3 hex bolts under the grille when you lift the hood?

There isnt anything under the headlights is there?? *cross fingers* As long as its just these 9 bolts and a few clips, it will be a 10min job for sure.

Well its been done. It was so easy to remove the bumper cover that it wasn't even funny. I just used a hex key. Thats it. Took me 5 minutes.

the new bumper assembly wasnt so smooth however. The textured bumper was fine, but the chrome trim piece was terrible. It was very hard to get on, and, it seems to run short on the driver's side end. For those of you that have the chrome piece, you know how it wraps around the side of the bumper? On the driver's side it runs short about half an inch. After careful measuring I determined it was the actual chrome trim piece itself. the finish on the piece is great, but its mold must be off or somthing.

Anyone ever experience this?

In the end, it went on and looks pretty good, as far as the end that ran short i ran a nice small bead of black auto silicon along the end of it, to hide that it runs short, and smoothed it with a credit card.

Since I wasn't 100% happy with doing that, I am getting a refund on the trim piece, without having to return it. That made me feel better. Overall it looks pretty good. My rear bumper is starting to get small rust spots and has a dent...so I guess I can't cry over the front not being perfect lol.

My rear bumper also has a small dent that has a little rust. How hard is it to R&R the rear bumper?
