It looks like this is the direction I'm going now. I ordered one of those eraser wheels to rip off the pinstriping, and to help clean up the sides and tailgate once the chrome strips and badges come off. I'm also shopping around for a source to get the stripes cut. I can't find any premade, and so far I'm either finding places that will make them using cheap vinyl, or complain about copyright issues. I'm gonna start checking out local shops. I just need to figure out the wheels.

For the pinstriping and logos, a hair dryer works really well to heat up the adhesive. I used gasoline to remove all the goo.

Copyright issues will be a major problem a lot of places you go. I wanted Monster Energy Drink logos cut out of vinyl when I had my old truck and none of the local shops would touch it, but a place called Fast Signs would. Im not sure if they have any locations by you, they have them throughout Wisconsin I know.

For the wheels, I wouldnt paint them. Too risky because if the paint starts chipping it will look like crap. If you only want 17" rims, you should be able to pick up a good set of rims for under $1k, and Im sure you can get atleast $800 for your old rims. If you wanted a quick sale, you could probably put them up for between $600-700 plus shipping and sell them within a week, that is if youre willing to ship them.

I'll check around and see if there are any of those near here.

I was thinking the same for the wheels. I have a couple nice sets picked out for under $800. I just need cash. If anyone wants a nice set of chrome 18" wheels, let me know

And what are your thoughts for tires? Are you going to keep the same ones and remount them, because thatll be another $400-500+ .... and you need to spare all this while you are in the process of selling your old rims and getting new ones, unless youre putting your truck on blocks for a couple days.

I figured I'd buy the rims and pray I can sell the old ones afterward. My plan was to take the new rims up to the shop I bought the tires at, and have them swapped over and balanced. They do it for pretty cheap, and I could be back out the door for under $100. If I have to, I'll hit up a local pawn shop and see what I can get out of them. Odds are I'll sell a few toys to help cover the cost, so it won't be a big deal.

You never know. Feel free to make an offer. I have a price range in mind that I'd be happy to get. I just won't way what it is
