Well I got my chrome grill on. Its to dark for pics. Now that I got it done I am sitting in front of the tv on a Saturday night drinking a cold beer with my old grill in my lap with a hair dryer! If that trick to get the emblem off without breaking it does not work I will feel like a real jack *** for trying it and not going out tonight lol...

How was the cold beer?... and did the emblem come off? Still think you should have gone out...LOL

On the 2008, from the backside there are 4 holes ( you can see the 3m tape) where you take a round phillips head screwdriver and push the emblem out , after heating the area up. you have to get it really warm almost hot... and push the emblem off.

That body colored grill with the gutter guard will look really awesome with your projectorz headlight covers when you get them painted body colored as well! I cant wait to see that!

Very nice! I wish I had taken my time on mine, and not ruined it, now I'm having trouble with the grill I'm painting, I put, like, 4 coats of clearcoat on it but two days later, it is still soft, if I barely touch it, it leaves a fingerprint. I guess I have to let it cure for a few days, or more....my impatience always gets the best of me!

Thanks. I really like the chrome grill as well. Definitely worth the $88 and hour of time it took to put on... oh and plus the 15 minutes of hair drying the emblem off lol.... As far as your grill that you are painting, did you allow the proper curing time in between each coat that you applied? I am in a hurry to get this exhaust on, but I want to take the truck to that inspection thing first to make sure it will not disqualify the power train warranty. Oh well.... I still have the bed rail caps that I have not put on so maybe I will do that today so I feel like I did not completely waste the day away.

I paid $50 for mine but I could not find the seller anymore so he must have sold them all. I got my paint online from a paint shop in Florida and there are no instructions. I guess they "assume" the user knows the correct way to apply, I figured it was like any other paint, spray a coat on, let it dry for 10-15 mins. and hit it again...I wonder if a hairdryer will work for this too, kind of like baked on....

$88 was the cheapest I found the grill on ebay. Now i am upset you only paid $50 for yours! I thought I had gotten a good deal because other ones were more then that lol... On your grill the paint may not have cured enough between coats or the coats were to thick, did it run any when you painted it? I would contact the seller and ask what the recommended cure time between coats.
