Who has removed the hood insulation?

I'll double check later today, but I'm pretty sure I don't have any hood insulation.

The advantage of taking the insulation off the hood is cooler engine bay temps. but also means a hotter hood.

if you go mudding its a good idea to take it off because it gets water loged

This is a hard decision. The only times I would be worried about the hood paint are when I go for a long cruise during the day, and then I park it in the afternoon sun on a 90 degree summer day. Hmmm ..... I personally like my paint the way it is

i'll let you know if my paint starts to suffer....that would totally p*ss me off though.....i've still got mine and now am worried enougvh that i'm going to re-install it...lol

Im really not sure if its anything to worry about though. Maybe in the 80's when paint quality wasnt that great on the GM cars, but Id like to think the paint can handle 250 degrees or so.

my 2010 dosen't have one, so thats all I know. weather it damages paint I don't know either

update... actually i do have one, i didnt realize it because it doesnt cover as much of the hood as the rams, but yep, its there
