Airaid intake is it bad for mudding?

Default Airaid intake is it bad for mudding?

My dad was trying to tell me that a intake system is bad for mudding becuase it has such an open air filter is this true?

I can understand what he means. The mudding group i rolled around with a couple times some of theguys would use a cover on the CAI just to prevent debris and water from getting into the intake. The airaid system I pickedup sits on top of the lower section of the factory intake.

Oh that's how It would fit in mine too soo would you be worried about takin it mudding

they call it a dirty sock or a prefilter i got one for my k&N but if i plan on going deep i put in my stock slightly modifed air box it seems to of donr the job thos far

I haven't had much water go that far up but as far mud goes i barely go in 2"'s of mud. Only had the truck a year now and from sping to fall is all my harley unless its raining. and then its only taking the truck to work
