they have aftermarket coolers that are a direct bolt on, some even wire tie to the front of the radiator, any shop like pepboys or napa has them

I installed a B&M low pressure drop tranny cooler. I bolted it onto the front crossmember and just tied into the return line from the stock cooler that is part of the radiator. Here is a pic or two.

Nice work, sleds. Looks clean! So, it sounds like you avoided using the tie downs that go through the radiator. Do you happen to have a part number for that B&M cooler? I'm guessing that B&M # 70264 is the one? The B&M web site doesn't have a "vehicle lookup" and my car shop prefers I order one and bring it in. Thinking I will order and install myself. Derale also makes a couple (D13504 being the better of the two), but it sounds like B&M is the preferred brand.

It's the 70266 supercooler.
Yes, B&M seems to be the choice. I was going to go cheaper when I did mine, but the parts guy told me the B&M is better for colder temperatures (winter) as it doesn't overcool your tranny fluid making it to thick to flow properly.

Thanks for the info, sleds. It looks like a lot of the B&M collers are "compatible"; 70255, 70264, 70266, and 70268. Since I'm going from CA to FL, cold weather isn't a concern.

I like how you bolted it to the crossmember and avoided using the ties _ were the bolts the only thing you used, nothing (no padding) between the cooler and the radiator?

Did you need any additional adapters/parts or did everything come with the kit?
