I made a set out of 1" square steel tubing for a Furd diesel truck I had about 17 years ago. Local south Georgia shop gave me a deal of $10 to powdercoat them if I could wait for him to have something else to paint, so it took me about 2 weeks to get them back. Best I can recall I had about $25 in 'em total. Used four cheap plastic end cap inserts with a little glue applied to seal 'em up.
Had some pics, but they were pre-digital days pics, and the ex took all the photo albums when we split up. Sure any of my pics like that have long ago seen the landfill. But they actually looked pretty good and were functional...
