I would go to another muffler shop keaton. $75 to weld a muffler in is way to much. The muffler shop I went to took my old exhaust out carefully so I could have it reinstalled if needed, then installed my whole dual exhaust kit, muffler and tips, all welded for $75.

You probably would not have a hard time finding someone to buy your flowmaster from you as well to cover most of the install cost.

Yeah, I'm still checking. Midas will do it for $60 (plus the stupid shop fees). I'll def be putting the flowmaster on craigslist, still have the stickers too....

So what is it you Don't like about the flowmaster? I always thought these were high quality peices. I had a 40 series on my Z71 and liked the rumble. Was it just not load enough?

Ok, Now on my Dakota I want it have the sound of performance and a nice bark and rumble. What would be the best way to go? Should the resonator and muffler be removed and then a single high performance muffler be installed? Have an exhaust shop just do it or buy a premanufactured kit and have it installed. I would think it would be cheaper to remove the old and have a performance muffler installed. Waht is the muffler of choice?

All I did was cut off one of my mufflers (had 2) and weld on a CherryBomb glasspack and have my exhaust come out after the back door instead of after the tire. I have people telling me it sounds great every day. I'm not sure if that's what your interested in but just a suggestion. (Glasspack was only $40--custom ordered 3inch. In 3 inch. out)
