26's on an 08 dakota!!
Hmm...how did I miss this thread the last couple of days? Lol. Well, here we are...so!
What destroys brakes (and other components) is overall diameter, width, and weight (and of course, driving style). I have been running 32" tires (265/75/16, stock steel wheels) on my truck for close to 50K. I have not changed my pads, or rotors at all, ever. Also, I have towed my race car to the track many times, once with no trailer brakes. I still have plenty of pad left (85K on the clock).

DonkeyPunch, I know that bigger tires will destroy the brakes faster but will it affect the braking performance not brake pad life is what wte boy is asking. Will the stock brakes be able to handle stopping the truck with the 26 inch wheels in your opinion?

I tried to end the conversation to let you at least keep a little bit of dignity and just move on, but I should of known then just like now that you are not capable of that. Your poor people skills and lack of maturity just won't allow you to. Your only making yourself look like, well i think you know.
What exactly are you looking to get out of this conversation trucky? Maybe we will find a way to give it to you so you will stop acting like a baby. Should we all just agree with you on everything? Will that make you feel like the coolest guy on the internet? lol.

come on guys, take it to PM's.
To fit a 26 inch wheel, you absolutely will need to lift it as high as possible... if you are a 4x4 guy, it might not work... to get 33's guys have to run a leveling kit.
truckys links will help you reach a decision, I suggest going through those threads and absorbing that info.

With Ram 20's and the 275 55 20's on it i burnt 3 sets of ceramic z max, or whatever they're called, in like 4 months on mopar rotors, they're lifetime warranty so whatever. With these new 305 50 I am definitely going with dimpled and slotted in the near future
so far there has been some ok awnsers and alot of bullsh....to the people who are actually talking about getting these massive wheels on my truck thank you!! I am looking into new brakes right now to go full big brake kit i am looking at $1250 from my car guy installed and he said that would stop the truck if i was on 30's!! right now the lift i have is just a 2 inch leveling kit and that can hold 32's with no cut no rub so when i install my pa 3in bodylift (which is sitting in my room) i will be able to get on 33s. The thing is i saw your truck on the 305/50/20s and now i want to run the 305/30 instead of the 295/30 but i will have to cut a little becasue they are 33.2's...and where are you guys getting those decals for the back of the truck?Oh and here is a link to see my truck

Your truck looks great. I really like the chrome grill and the body color fender flares. Also the nav system is pretty awesome. If you are referring to the bed stripes then you can get them custom made from Klings Designs or go to a local sign shop and they can make them for you as well. Here is the link to his website.
