Question CAI assy ? which is better?

Ok, little things bother me (maybe OCD). I originally built an air tube out of PVC. I was wondering if the factory made CAI tubes, the polished ones like this:

conduct less heat into the air system then the pvc? Would heat wrap http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ier=398811_0_0_ work just as well? I have built an insulated air box around my filter to reduce engine heat. My current tube is pretty warm after running the engine. Any opinions?

i mean honetly the tube is going to be warm hot! it sits on the top of an engine bay! my metal tube from Injen is hot after its been running! the CAI is designed to free up al the restriction from getting the air from the fender well and only there to being able to suck air straight from the engine bay to the TB. That is what gives you power the amount of free air to suck in! so i mean no matter what you use it will be hot after its been running!

you may be able to reduce the temp by wrapping, I believe others have used this material, but I dont know how much it would help.
