Default How to carry small items in the truck bed

I really don't need those huge wall-to-wall storage boxes. All I have are some bungie cords and a small tool box. I still haven' figured out where to store them.

If you look from the rear of the truck at the bed, you should see two 1.5" vertical slots right before the back of the wheel wells. Those slots will fit a 2x10 perfectly in them. I bought one 2x10, cut it to the width of the bed and used the rest of it to make a couple sections between the board and the tailgate. By doing this, I then had a couple small boxes to just throw stuff in, but it was also easily removed. Your 08 Dakota should have them, let me know if you need pics of mine.

I work at Lowes home improvement and they sell a small plastic box for SUVs that is about $35. You could get one of those and mount it in your bed!

I have a camper shell on mine so I just use a five gallon bucket to throw straps in.

I've got a plastic trunk that I got at Wal-Mart. It was in the automotive department.
I think it's like $17.99. There's another one larger with wheels on one end for $25.
