2005 Dodge Dakota 3.7 Tranny Issues
I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota 3.7 quad cab. Last night while i was driving to Ohio, I was going about 70 MPH and the truck decided to drop to second gear. (about threw me through the windshield.) I pulled over and looked at everything and didnt see anything wrong. When I started to go again the tranny started in second gear and didnt leave second gear. I went to the auto store and checked the codes it read a P0888. I cleared it and came right back.. I checked the fuses and saw that the Trans./PCM fuse was blown I put a fuse in the truck and right as i started the truck it blew again. While it is in drive (not first or second) everytime I hit the gas pedel the oil light will flash on and off really fast like a flicker. any Ideas??
The truck staying in 2nd gear is limp mode, and its done to prevent damage when a problem is detected. You will probably need to take the truck in to the dealer if its still under warranty, or a trusted transmission shop.
