Default It NEVER did this before???

I backed out of my driveway yesterday and the engine killed while in gear. I slipped it in neutral and restarted it and it seems to be OK now. It's a 2005 V8.

I wonder what happened. I usually start the engine and let the idle come down before I put it in gear to go (forward or backward). This time I hit the starter and yanked it in reverse and started backing up.

Do you suppose it just kind of puked out and stalled?

I put a new battery in a few days ago and my friend says it's (computer) probably still adjusting.

Any ideas???

What is the deal with everyone starting to have issues with there trans this month. This is making me nervous since I only have 10,000 left on my power train.

As for your issue everyone is saying its probably a fluke and if it happens again you should probably look into it.

The 05 Dakotas also had a stalling problem with the 4.7s. It may be something to do with that too. It would be an issue in the PCM program if it was that.

I had the same problem. You need to clean the IAC sensor and throttle body. I have not had a problem in over a month. You will also notice a increase in power!
