brake performance package
I went with slot & dimple with green stuff, didn't like em. The dimples kept filling with **** and causing gouges in the rotors. The dimples are not self cleaning like the slots are. I went to slotted & cross drilled rotors and Hawk pads. Much better, no issues.
yeah my old front rotors were cross drilled and slotted with EBC Green pads and did just fine. but changed them out when I had 20's on the truck on thought the front breaks where the issue! deffinately was the wheels being warped not the roros at all! whoops oh well always more i can buy!
Hmm... Perhaps there is validity to your statement, at least until we consider braking under extreme conditions like 75-0 or going down a mountain pass. While your pedal still feels stiff, what your brake pads feel is FAAAADE.
I've done oreilly's standard stuff for years and never had a problem. Sure, it's neat to say "I've got slotted/crossdrilled/dimpled, etc rotors and "performance" pads, but for normal everyday driving is one really that much better than the other to justify the cost difference?
my brakes squeak like hell and i took it back in to the dealership to have them serviced and all they said was 'you have over 30% of brake pad left, they are fine' the squeaking drives me insane
mine dont make a bit of noise. you might want to buy some of that caliper grease and grease the slide pins and put some rtv on the back of the pads. squealing is basically a high frequency vibration, so if you rtv the pads to the calipers it eliminates the vibrations. Now, before anyone says how dumb that idea is, it works for me and has for years.....lol
