I need a new Key, but have some Questions...
My circuit board is trashed(bought it that way), I talked to a tech who said he could fix it for around $40. I'm thinking that's not bad, but my key ring is broke... Could I let him fix my circuit board(or wtvr it's called) and buy something like this?

I tried to explain this to him, but he mentioned something about an integrated chip, and if I just had any key cut to fit my truck it would lock it out, and after a couple of tries it would have to reset with a computer or something like that...lol.
Can anyone explain to me why I couldn't have him fix my circuit board, and install them in the key linked above?
If it matters I do have the little red dot on my dodge light up when I first start it.
Thanks guys.

You can do exactly what you are trying to do.
The transponder is part of the circuit board. So as long as you keep the circuit board you have, you will be fine.
Dodges don't lock out, like GMs do. Even with GM all you have to do is turn the key on for 15 minutes (for most GMs), and the PASSLOK will reset, as long as the resistance value being programmed is not "0" (zero).
