Default p265/75r16's to replace p245/70r16?

hey guys.

sorry dont know much about tires. just want to know if i can put p265/75's on my stock 16-inch rim. its a 2005 2wd and originally came with p245/70r16 tires. im looking to replace my second set of tires which i replace with the same size but now looking to go bigger...

i found some hankook dynapro atms in the p265/75 16 size for cheap and just want to know if these will go on my stock rims...

265/70/16 (The other stock size) barely fits on my 4x4. I have the BFG A/Ts and they clear the mud flaps in front by 1/4" or less when turning. With 265/75/16s, many 4x4 guys have to trim the mud flaps and will still get some minor rubbing depending on the tire. With a 2x4, you may have more limitations for tire size due to the slightly lower front end.

245/70 16 to 265/70 16 will give you about 1/2" taller sidewall, 265/75's about 1" taller sidewall.

Dang. Thinking if ishuld pull the trigger on these hankooks. Discount tire has em in that size for only $100/tire and $511 otd. And a load of 5star ratings.

...or might regret later down the road if the rubbing is harsh.

That's what my 07' 4x4 TRX came from the factory with! I think that the 4x4 TRX4 is an inch taller than the other trucks if i'm not mistaken. I heard it here so soon someone will chime in on that... But i think, for that size in a 2wd will rub without a leveling kit in the front.

I have 265/75/16's on mine. Very Minor rubbing on full right turn, that's it. Should work.

alright. thanks for all the replies.

i guess i'll go ahead and get these. the last tires i had were the same size as the stock(245/70r16). they were the fuzion xti's. when i first got them i thought they werent gonna be all that great... turns out to have been a good tire. so far i have put around 69k miles on them and only one of them is bald and i have never got them balanced besides the first time it was installed. they were rotated about 4 times so far. they have that uni-t stuff which is the same u find on the destination at's..

jus looking for somthing different and bigger.

thunder:
i found them on discounttire.com. down here in central florida its discount tire but i think they go by "americas tire" in other places...

To see the size comparison, go to http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/vis...ize-calculator

This will give you a visual comparison plus it will also show you dimention differences and speedometer difference in peecent and in MPH at 30 and 60.

Edit: tried not to make it a live link, but failed, sorry mods.
