My problem wasnt finding one that fit; it was finding one that fit right. All of them would have a huge amount of room between the box itself and the bed side. I thought it would look funny.

Mine is just temporary. I want to find someone that is good at metal work so that I can get the one I want custom made. I want one that is bed mounted not bed rail mounted, goes up to the bed rails, bends around the wheel wells, and that is only 14 in wide so that I can still use my short bed.

I bought a damaged aluminum one from lowes that was 100.00 orrigionally 250.00, but I had to cut and weld it so that it would fit, and that costed me about 100 bucks cause my welder "buddy" at work was an a**, so I had to go else where.

Or go to a body shop and have them make you some Dakota "Ram" boxes. I have threatened to do that to my truck a time or 2.

funny, i have that same plastic tool box, does urs have the slide out handle and wheels? mines a stanley. i go to lots of ghetto places sometimes for work, and i wouldnt trust it even if it was locked to the bed cause you could still rip it out with enough force. putting it inside and taking it out is a b*tch too

Yes that would be that tool box. I dont really like it all that much but it does the job for now until i get the one i want made, I did not want to spend over 100 dollars on a tool box that I did not like. The eye bolt i am using has a half in washer behind it and the bike is the biggest one I could find so it would take a little bit to get out of there. But like i said earlier, its just temporary.

I liked the convenience when I had one on my other trucks, but it would ruin the "look" i;m going for on this truck, I'm trying to find one of those kind that fits on the side of the bed and goes over the wheelwell but is flush with the bedside so a tonneau cover fits over it.
