going to remove front window tint from my ram tonight, any tips/pointers?

 

If you have one/know some who has one, get one of those hand held steam cleaner things. Works great!

 

new razorblade. heat gun on low.

 

Pull it off, get a razor blade and a bottle of water with dish soap. Spray the window with the soapy water and scrape with the razor blade.

This is the easiest way to take out the glue without scratching the window!!

I would just skip the soap and water and use gasoline .... best adhesive remover in the world.

honestly. and ive done this alot. gas on a rag to whipe off the glue, water and soap to remove the smell and a razor blade to remove the tint. ive done three cars. two it was peeling and one where the p/o had went illegal with the tint and my aunt got a ticket. and afterwards you could never tell they had been tinted.

 

why ya removing the tint man?

 

the hwy patrol got me, illegal in cali,

it came right off tho, no heat at all, it was a two layer deal, the tint and then a clear film between the tint and glass, just picked a corner with the razor and carfully pulled by hand, about 5min per side, nothing to it and no residue left behind
