Default Need information

I am really interested in the dodge dakota, extended cab. I really want the 4.7, but there are some sweet deals on the same truck with the v6. What are your opinions on this. How does the gas mileage compare? Power? I wont be towing much, but will have my ATV in the truck now and then..
Thanks in advance

Power?
There has been quite the discussion of the new Dakota's on here. Some like it like myself, and others don't. If you're not going to be towing anything big, I'd get the 3.7L Magnum V6 Engine in it. You should check out Dodge.com , they let you build and price new Dak's.

I test drove a V8, then the V6. Then the V6 again (couple days later), followed by the V8. The V8 drove a lot better. Besides the obvious torque difference, the tranny shifted a lot smoother - better downshifts and more responsive as well.

I have the 3.7 in my liberty and the 4.7 in my dakota.....and have driven a 3.7 in a dakota...with that said for the extra coin I'd go for the 4.7...better resale, more power, more fun....

I did the same exact thing when i went to buy a truck...test drove a v6 dak, then the v8 dak, then a v6 1500, then a v8 1500, then back with the v6 dak again and then finally the v8 dak. v8 dak defiantely felt the best for the $$$
