Default Help for better sounding exhaust

last year I installed a Flow Master cat back dual exhaust system with their 50 series muffler on my '05 3.7L Dak. It sounds a little better, but still not what I would like it to sound like. People have commented that it "sounds like I have a hole in my exhaust". I want a "beefier" more aggressive sound. Do you think switching to a 40 series muffler would help, or would that just make it sound like one of those foreign cars with those huge mufflers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My suggestion is to go to youtube and do a search for your 3.7l engine and muffler so that you can get an idea...

This clip has a v6 dak with the 40 series flowmaster.. Good Luck!!

The only thing you can do to make that exhaust sound beefier is add 2 more cylinders. Thats just my .02, but basically any system you try to do is going to sound ricey. You can try experimenting with resonators. This will quiet the system down, but it may give you more rumble and tone out the high pitched sound of the v6. Im not trying to insult or anything, but its the one downside of a v6 engine.

I bought a super pro street from spintech for my truck. Not sure how it will sound on a v-6, mines a v-8, but you dont get any more beefy than that muffler right there. I would also like to point out along with it being beefy it is also quite loud.

You could go to a 40 series but like Bobby says there is only so much you can do with a V6....What 50 series do you have?

Adding 2 cylinders like he said is the only way lol I have the 3.7 with the 40 series, intake and no cats and it sounds good for a v6. Someone in my town has the same setup on his 3.7 single cab short bed but with an intake, high flow cats and dual magnaflow exhaust and when he starts it and cruising (3.5 rpms or lower) it sounds like a v8, my next step is high flow cats and dual 40 series...
