I believe the instructions make reference to "thrust washers" or something to that effect that are located on the spider gears. I can't even begin to tell you how important they are. They're very very very thin metal pieces between the factory spiders and the carier housing. If you don't install them (cause maybe you thought they just weren't in yours to begin with cause you didn't look extra close at the spiders and realize they were there) then it can become a permalock and not want to disengage causing a spool effect everytime you take a turn or a curve.

We found this out the hard way many years ago while installing one in the front of a grand cherokee. He tried to turn the wheel, it fought back, and he ended up taking out both curbs trying to get out of the driveway. lol

that it require some specefic type of oil not to have broken teeths...no clue if syntec or not... just check

i just baught mobile one synthetic 140 w thats what the trucks suposed to have. If anybody knows that that oil will damage these things please let me no. And as for the thrust washers Thanks.. allthough it wouldnt be as bad for me because its ther rear end for me. But thats a funny story

its even funnier that we didn't test it that night and he found out the next mornin when he hopped in it to go to work.
